We are now in Febuary 2013 and the stainless steel modified compensators are steadly moving out so not have had them fitted i would also like to thank Munroman and Ian for the return of your old compensators this morning i note both were stretched to 13mm as you can see from the attached photo's below i have added you to the returns post.

If any other members would like to obtain one and have the handbrake their car rightly deserves please send me a PM cheers Arctic.

A few pics below to bring new members up to date with what happens to their compensators when they have stretched and how the modified stainless steel one looks and will not stretch once fitted giving your R75 or MG ZT the handbrake it needs and should have.

Fig 1 shows a new compensator on the left next to a stretched compensator which most our cars will have or have had in the past or present.
We are now in Febuary and the stainless steel modified compensators are steadly moving out, so members whom have not had one fitted can see what happens over time with the handbrake i would also like to thank Munroman and Ian for the return of your old compensators this morning i note both were stretched to 13mm as you can see from the attached photo's below i have added you to the returns post.

Fig 4 shows all three together left a new compensator, middle a stretched compensator and right the stainless steel modified one

Fig 5 shows two members compensators stretched to 13mm but have now fitted the stainless steel modified one, even if you fit a new compensator it will go on to stretch within 3-6months of fitting it will start the process from day one of fitting so choose wise and fit the stainless steel one time fit all the best Arctic.

Arctic
Fitted the compensator earlier in the week. (You should have received my old unit by now?)
I would like to add, that this is a fantastic mod and my MG ZTT passed the MOT today with flying colours. Never had the handbrake so good.

Big thumbs Up!!

Another batch of five ready for the coming week and i will also take this chance to thank (littlened) & Vitesse-Chris for the return of their old compensators both over 12mm stretched which is the average i usually see when returned at least now you will not have to worry on that score again cheers Arctic.

Shaun 12.79mm for yours

as you can see from this pick it should be about 1-2mm when new or modifed

Chris yours was 14.19 so must have been on at least 7 notches on the handbrake
