Default Diesel MAP spanner

Sorry if this has been done before. Did a search and couldn't find anything. Wanted to get my MAP out to check it and obviously it is a very tight squeeze. The pictures show clearly what I did. Socket cut down to 30mm overall length and ground down to make a tight fit for a 6mm ring spanner to be tapped on as a tight fit. Makes very easy work of it.

Obviously personal preference, but in the time it took you to cut down a socket you could easily of removed the inlet manifold and used a normal socket set on it.

In reality it took around five minutes to modify the socket and a total of fifteen minutes or so to remove the engine cover, MAP, clean and replace it and get the engine cover back on. Just about the same amount of time that the sun was out for ;-)

Takes me that long just to get my tool kit from the shed.

Oh yes. I know that one. As I have got older I have had to spilt up tools into more and more boxes in order to keep my back in place.
