My new launch spec Conny
I was offered a very good price for my Club Se a couple of weeks ago & decided to let it go & set about looking for a Conny. I looked at quite a few & was very dissappointed on a number of occassions. Then one evening i was browsing on ebay ( as you do ) and came across a 'T' plate launch spec conny that only had 41000 miles on the clock, a full MOT, lots of history and 2 previous owners. I rang the guy who was selling it & he said it was a honest car but he just wanted it away as it had been traded in & was not what he dealt in so i hit the button. Wedgewud & i went down to Nottingham last Saturday to collect it and to my surprise it was exactly as described. Except for a scrape on the nsf wing & bumper & a couple of 'dentman' type dents it is in really good order. The car drove really well on the 90 mile journey home and i am pleased as can be with it.
I have spent most of today cleaning it so here are a few pictures I also bought a set of serpents last night so as soon as they arrive & are painted i will add another picture or two. Steve Last edited by ssizefive; 4th September 2011 at 18:20.. |

Ah it was you who bought the Serpents of MGbreaker in Peterborough. I posted up the deal on here saying that it was good value with the tyres.
Can I recommend BJV engineering down in Hemel Hempsted. might be a bit of a trek but you'll get all 4 alloys done for less than £50 a corner and they are very very good, I got a set done in March this year and have had a set of Meteors done for a a couple of years and before that anther set of Serpents that I sold on to Reebs over 3/4 years ago and he states they are pristine with no bubbling or tarnishing. So do yourself a favour and get down to BJV. Stubs |

Excellent, another launch car kept on the road, and it looks to be a very tidy example.
You even have the tow bar fitted, well done on your purchase. |

Serps will finish the car perfectly and the interior is just stunning.
Have you thought about the larger rear plate also?

Yes, i do want a larger rear plate - the only thing that is stopping me is the car was Priory Garages ( in Nottingham ) demo & the plates have the Priory name on them, sad i know but i like that kind of originality. I did wonder if i may be able to get one made with the name in it. The interior is really nice, i dont think the back seats have been used much as they still have a matt finish to them - the drivers one has gone a bit shiney but is still in nice condition. That looks a very nice example in an original state, regarding the dealer markings on the bottom of the rear plate that also would stop me replacing them.
Serpent alloys would really set the car off too.. |
