Continental vehicle recovery
Entirely unrelated to a Rover/MG but I think I may get some very helpful information from the collective.
I wish to import a motorhome from either Germany or the Netherlands. If I wish to buy and then drive it back myself I need temporary export plates. Unfortunately I cannot spare the time from work for the two to three days that will take. I assume it's a similar process to buying and importing a private car from either of these countries. My query: if I use a vehicle recovery company will their trade plates be sufficient for them drive the vehicle from there to here without the faff of temporary export plates? An alternative will be a low-loader recovery, which will increase the recovery cost somewhat. Member SonicZS has been helpful with my query and provoked this line of thought (thanks to Paul). |
