Yes indeed and SHE should indeed have done the decent thing with a service revolver.

Nothing to do with the accident though - coincidence that this pic had a white car in it. Just one of my nostalgic pics from the 80s

Not the best smash I ever had though - I put this beautiful 2-year-old American Export Trident into a tree doing about 80 in 1974. Broke my neck in that one.

As a result of all this conditioning, you end up with people like May - and get herded like sheep!

Sheep get eaten.!
Kaiser - do we deduce from the tone of your post that your prefer a more spirited reaction to the application of rules and law?

Would this be where people who do not like the rules go out and machete their neighbours, burn whole towns etc?

I think I prefer the constant pointless moaning about anything and everything of the British public personally. It's just like our winter weather.

A bit sheepish of the alternatives I am!

Wasn’t my fault, Your Honour, I’d only just got the bike, and had no idea just how bad the handling was…

No problem, but you’ll need a TARDIS – that was 1974

Back to the courses ...Look at the different prices for a course in different areas. Depending on your location you may find a cheaper one available within striking distance. . Why are they different prices ? Because they are run by different companies , NOT the police or local authority . So the money goes to boost some shareholders profit instead of mending potholes .

The biggest contributors to the cost of running a course are the venue costs (room rent), trainer costs(salaries+overheads) and admin costs associated with the course (salaries+overheads). All of these are highly dependent on the location.

This is the point not understood by our earlier poster with strong views on the matter - that the police are not involved in the provision of the courses and do not benefit financially.

Anyone who has put together training courses will be able to work out that the profit from running a 4-hour course with 2 trainers for 20 people and charging around £100 will not be substantial. Most likely around £20 to £30 per head i.e. £400 to £600 per course. It is not going to be economically significant in the bigger scale of things.

IMO those who are caught speeding should recognise that they have pleased guilty to the speeding offence, and focus on correcting the errors of their ways as opposed how the proceeds from their pleading are used.

Whilst remonstrating with the Police officers, a message came over the walkie-talkies they were using" yellow AA car, doing 50mph". I asked if I could wait to hear his excuse, but was dismissed! My excuse was if everybody kept to the 30mph limit, there would be queues back to Worthing...which even though probably true, cut no mustard with the Law.

Did you not stop to consider that the "I'm smart" type of approach was likely to ensure that you got the points and fine whereas otherwise the officers may have shown some positive discretion and leniency?

IMO people have lost the art of getting something from others when the other party does not have to give it!
