Default New mirror glass?

Could anybody please tell me if the heated glasses for later (skullcap) mirrors are "sided"? The heaters didn't work in either of mine, so I got a new RH glass, which is fine now, but don't see any new LH ones on eBay.

Rimmers give this part number, and describe it as "RH", but I think they're referring to the car being RHD, not that this glass is for that side only

Thanks and, as Margot Leadbetter said in The Good Life, yuletide felicitations to you all

PS yes, I did check the voltage to both sides, clean the connectors etc.

Thanks Ronnie, it kind of looked that way... but knowing my luck, etc etc.

I was tempted to wheek them both out and just compare them, but they're a naughty word to get back in again

So... managed to get a brand new one, looks like OEM, for a few quid... but does anybody know what this little plastic blade is for? It snaps into a catch on the back of the glass unit, and can then slide into a slot in the mirror when the glass is fitted... what on earth is it for???

Quite difficult to get in, so I didn't bother with the new glass on the other side... doesn't seem to have made any difference

I have seen them on a few cars, i cannot remember if the glass i bought for the ZT had it though, i may have reused the tag from the original faulty mirror? I believe its just a guide so the mirror doesn't go too far when adjusting, possibly, but as long as it works and hasn't fallen off it looks like its not a critical part
