Hi All...Came back from Grantown on Spey today having spent a most enjoyable three days up there with Mr and Mrs FLYER, to be honest it was fantastic as even the weather was super as the photo's show.
Had a smashing dinner in the Ben Mhor on Friday evening followed by a couple of shandys at night. Saturday we were on the Strathspey steam railway (glorious day) and had Cream of Mushroom soup followed by assorted sandwiches in our first class compartment, we felt like royalty, then we took a drive to the Cairngorm Mountain Railway where it was nice and sunny at the car park but we took a train ride to the top of the mountain where it was thick snow and plenty of skiers, the views from the top...Wonderful !!! I have to admit i love it up Speyside and i never tire of the scenery and the charm of Grantown on Spey and i am delighted to say Mr and Mrs FLYER love it as well and made it all even more enjoyable. It would be fair to say we will definately be back. On a footnote...On the way back home today, we went to Tomintoul (a very scenic drive) and called in at the Whisky Castle...this shop had every make of whisky you could imagine, spent sometime looking at the different malts etc, they have a wee cafe nexxt door and we had tea and cake, you could say it was delish.. A memorable weekend and thanks to Mr and Mrs FLYER..
