Hi Koren,
This will come as a shock but John died in his sleep on Wednesday night. See thread on main forum. I do not have ready access to tickets. I am going to Bracknell tomorrow to collect the Gazebo and Club Banner etc. If I find any tickets how will I get them to you? Peter. |

Great day, great company as usual and so, so hot. Special thanks to Peter for going beyond the call of duty and getting the gear from Johns to keep us in the shade. Got to cool off now and savour the memories over a beer.

Have to concur. A great day was had by all, John would have been proud. Very special thanks to Peter for taking over the reigns at such short notice and in such sad circumstances . The beer was an added bonus .
I took a few photos which I'll post up in the next few days. Just a bit too hot to sit for long at the pc at the mo! Cheers, Cliff

Thanks to all for your help with the erection !!!!!! (Gazebo of course)
Pervert!!! Rev Jules. I can read your mind. When the structure was collapsed we tried to reduce the length of the erection by 8 inches to get it in the bag but it was rock hard. Whoever suggested to put the bag on the floor had the right answer as this morning it slid right in, together with the condom, sorry cover inserted inside. All now stowed away in the loft. With unanimous agreement we decided that next year's Clandon Car Show would be designated The Alan Jay and John Howard Memorial Meet. This is in recognition of John's great organisational talent and boundless enthusiasm sorting out the previous shows. Thanks for your great company yesterday together with your stoicism in regard to the sun and heat, plus your agreement to break camp as soon as the raffle had finished. Next Breakfast meet will be in September at The Ely. I will decide the date during August. Last edited by harrisop48; 9th July 2018 at 12:00.. |
