Default A question on spares ...

What's the parts availability like with the V8? Is there a decent amount of interchangeability between 75 components and the V8 (aside from the engine itself) Behemoth?

With only 800-odd ever made, is it a nightmare sourcing replacements when bits break?

Only a few parts are difficult to source...and even then the 260s club are on the case with such items...eg. rear disks. Not heard of any being off the road due to unavailability of parts....either standard 75 / ZT bits or Ford bits are easily sourced in the majority of cases.

Not as bad as you would imagine. The owner's club does a good job of sourcing parts or getting those items made that are difficult to get. Also some parts were borrowed from other cars so will fit.

There are still some new supplies around at SMC etc. It will get harder I imagine but a lot of owners have a "war chest" of emergency parts...

I was at Austin Garages the other day and Nick had discovered a bolt on the subframe that sometimes fails was used in some ford (mondeo I think) so was just ordering them.

One tries ones best, seriously though, the two-sixties are very actives in ensuring hard to get parts are remanufactured

As per other threads, I think I got mine from Dreadnought, other than that try Nick at Austins

I've put 120,000 miles on mine in the last 4 years and have not had a problem sourcing parts as yet.
