You used to be able to buy a Range Rover in Saudi Arabia for half the cost in the UK. Rip off Britain again. Solution to every problem is to tax us all more. The UK must be a front runner in how to tax anything that moves.

Whats stopping anyone ordering one in UK spec, buying it in Hongkong, then shipping it over even with getting it registered it should be cheaper than the UK price.

Still have rubbish range.
Still getting more expensive to run.
Anyone purchasing one needs their head examined.

Oh dear, so much misinformation...............

"Still dropping in value." - This is not true prices have stabilised and the correction to the market was needed as used EV prices had become overinflated to the point where second hand EV's were selling for more then new ones! In fact when we traded our 2 year old MG ZS EV in last year with 36,000 miles on the clock we got almost what we paid for it new which is ridiculous.

"Still catching fire." Yep this does happen however petrol and diesel cars are TEN TIMES more likely to catch fire, it just doesn't make for such a big headline.

"Still have rubbish range." With our MG4 I'm now getting a real world range of 250 miles between charges, and that's driving pretty hard. As our daily commute is 60 miles that's more then enough and there probably are not many people who get into a car and drive more then 250 miles without stopping anyway.

"Still getting more expensive to run." In the last 12 months we've done just over 15,000 miles and the cost to charge has been £498 in total. That works out at 3.3p per mile. Compared to our diesel Mini which does 52mpg and would have cost around £1650 or my Ranger which would have been over three grand in fuel alone.

If you have home charging then EV's are way cheaper and more convenient to run. Having been EV drivers now for 3 years and well over 50,000 miles we much prefer them to petrol or diesel and would not even consider going back. Despite what the Daily Mail would have you believe even the public charging infrastructure is improving. We don't have to do much public charging now as the range is so good however when we did a 400 mile round trip to York recently charging was a doddle with 6 spare high power chargers when we got there and a charging speed that was so high we barely had time to grab some bits from Sainsburys before it was done.
