Default KV6 engine

Am I correct in assuming the compression ratio of all the variants was the same (the pistons and crankshafts appear to be common components) so apart from the different inlet/exhaust cams what else influenced the difference in power between the 160 and 177PS engines and the 180 and 190PS versions (I know the 190 also had a bigger airbox throughput and I suppose the engine management chips will be configured differently) so what other magic dust was involved.

The bore is the same but the stroke is different. 2.00 litre=66.2mm 2.5 litre= 82.8mm. Compression ratio for both is 10.25. Slightly over square the 2.5 litre..

Sorry I should have qualified I was only concerned with the 2.5L KV6 (I may be wrong but the 160/180 and 190's were all 2.5L?
I'm actually interested in what is special about my 177 Contemporary SE

I presume you no longer want the engine that you asked me about, as I sent you a number of messages and didn’t get a reply

Mick,
I sent you two PM's, first dated 25/06 and a chaser dated 05/07.
I did have a PM box 'full' meantime but I sorted that.
If I can I'll send again....

Checked my inbox and didn’t have a message however for some reason my PM’s were playing up as stated in this thread

I’ve emptied a lot of space so should be ok now hopefully I’ll wait for your PM
Cheers Mick
