Default fathers day prezzie

Family got a battery angle grinder for me.

We will see if its vaguely up to its adverts .

But like a lot of battery stuff nowadays, it comes without a battery , bit like selling a car without wheels .

Box states in big letters recommend the 4AH battery pack.

So they got that too ..

All unwarapped sunday , looks the job..?

BUT ... none of them noticed the 4aH battery doesn't come with a charger .. after a web search seems a charger insn't available seperately, only with the NOT recomended 2 Ah battery

Not sure about their business model here !

It seems this is the new way of disguising the true cost of battery gear - sell the bare tool and batteries/chargers separately. One step forward is that many manufacturers are now adopting the "one battery fits all" route, so one battery & charger will service drills/drivers/saws etc.
I've got some Ryobi One+ gear which has a range of different Ah batteries available - all of which fit all their tools.

They do occasionally. Although more recently I have seen their twin charger as opposed to a single EXAMPLE. If memory serves me, they are around £20 in store.

I would actually buy the charger bundle with the 2ah battery. It will work, but it doesnt last that long, but it will mean mean you have a spare battery to keep you going whilst the other charges. An alternative would be to consider buying a drill or another tool, that uses the same battery for not much more than the battery/charger bundle.

When I got my grinder (it is quite good, and plenty of kick to it), it came with a 2ah and charger, but was around £60. However, the impact wrench I bought about a year later came with a 4ah battery and charger, was £70. I had fancied a 4ah battery, but they were £25 (single chargers were £15). I now have a charger fitted in the shed, and one to be portable.

The 2ah suits the wrench better, as it will only be used for wheel nuts. In saying that, when they are available, they sell out within hours, as a lot of builders and mechanics seem to buy them up - which says something.

What a swizz I nearly fell for buying a cordless circular saw until I read it properly, It would have cost way more than I was prepared to pay for the extra charger & battery

No such hassle for me this year as my daughter bought me a blueberry bush

Been nagging LIDL about this , on principle really . and i'm a troublemaker

Multiple replies asking for lots of silly detail considering they sell it..

And the last email sent me to what seems to bne the wholesaler , to buy a charger.

and guess ..... "Not currently avaiable") ..

I know I can get one from the multiple chancers on ebay at 24-30 quids ( twice the LIDL price ) but !!

will see what LIDL come up with ..

They do come up for sale quite regularly. If you keep an eye on their weekly specials, or download their app for the phone, looking for their DIY deals. Quite often the chargers are not listed, however, if they are listing the power tools, you will see in store they have the batteries and chargers.

You can also buy the parts online HERE. I think the prices are similar to instore prices, however you do have to pay for delivery. (X20 range charger HERE). I suspect this is the site you have already been given.

A couple of years ago I was bought an inspection light, which seems to be very well made. But it has never worked, and my mother lost the receipt. My plan was to buy another one, keep it, but return the old one (at the time I had not opened it up) and get a refund on it. But didnt they change the design on the next release! I bought a battery and charger kit (it is all I can see that could be faulty), but the guide slots of the battery have changed, so they dont fit the old. Everything else it the same!

Found a special deal @ local lidl so got a charger and a Battery for less than half the ebay Chancers ..

And then my son comes home with a double charger he found on Special too ..

Just like Buses

And now can't take that back as my daughters frenchie who was visiting decided he liked the box .

Maybe join the ebay chancers now

Anyhow the grinder easily cut the old exhaust up whilst fitting the stainless CAT back
