Default Rover 75's built in Oxford

Hello, I think i've become an addict. I've recently bought a Rover 75 Tourer and love it....I've also got to enjoy reading this forum and learning more about the car and it's heritige. I was watching one of the youtube clips some one posted and noticed the Rover 75 started life being built in Oxford, my home town! I would love to have one of the Oxford built cars! How many where built in Oxford and up until what year? How could I tell which is a Oxford car?

Many thanks and enjoy the weekend!

I have a 2000 Cowley car but I dont know the exact date they moved production. There are a great many differences but the easiest way to tell a Cowley car is by it's black sills.

Black sills usually indicate a Cowley car - plus an early reg like S, T or V. But it was possible to have body coded sills by special order. Other features - real wooden dash, a separate badge and chrome boot lift handle are not conclusive because some of this stock was used up after the move to Longbridge.

Production of the 75 at Cowley ceased in July 2000.

81,969 production model 75's were produced at Cowley up to transfer to Longbridge.

Tourer production started at Longbridge at the end of May 2001, full production commenced in the middle of June, with delivery to dealers of the first Tourers in the last week of July.
