Radiator fan problems
Hello. I have a problem, I think, quite serious in the cooling system of my Rover 75. Radiator fan not start, even if the air conditioning works or if coolant temperature increases above the normal. What do you think I should check first? My car: Rover 75 2.0 CDT, 2000. |

Check if you have a resistor or not
I'll post all the links up for you later

I'd have thought a 2000 reg would have the earlier 3-speed system. Sounds like a typical worn out fan motor.
What is the mileage? |

mine is same, need new fan, mine only working on third speed.been like it for few months as weather cold enough for now, just dont sit to long in traffic until you change fan.switch your a/c to econ,so long as engine reciveing enough air you should be ok.use trip button on dash to monitor temp as you are driving along.going to jules in feb to get new fan as he is the man for this. my temp sit ok at around 92-94 if you get to around 110-112 and third speed dont come on you could be in trouble.

My guess would be the motor has finally failed. It's done pretty well at 82k miles, they usually go at 50-60K. The standard fix these days is a replacement 2-speed system. They are fairly expensive, but plug and play. You'll have to remove the front bumper but lots of info around if you look properly. I've no doubt you'll find 'em on eBay or maybe member Jules can help out.
