This happens to me. Is the small light on that indicates which mirror you can adjust. It if is out you have lost power to the switch.. I take the switch out. Pull off the rear electrical contact (white). Push it back in and fine again for the next six months or so. check both A pillar earths as a matter of course. I have cleaned the inside of the switch but it just does it now and again, I can even take it out now with no tools, it could be a damaged track inside or pin. i have tried everything to sort it but there is never a fault when I have tested it. I just pull off the white connector and push it straight back in.

That's exactly the problem I have: there is no mirror indicator light showing on the console at all. Very annoying.

I presume that replacement (if I wanted to go that route) is not that simple either? It'll be a T4 re-program job?
