Maybe it's my screen size, but the thread is "I might have a poo...". Sorry, maybe it's just me.

Two threads merged as they are the same thing. Can everyone now re-read everything from the first post to ensure you are all up-to-speed on all the facts as some questions have already been answered from the original two threads.
Thanks. |

Hi to all, sorry for the confussion but glad some of it gave you a bit of a giggle. Monday had a diagnostic test put on the car and was told it could be a fault with the airflow sensor and cooling temperature readings and suspect a faulty ECU but they could not confirm exactly what it was. Today had another diagnostic test by a company listed on this site and they confirmed that it was the ECU. So over the weekend will be removing it, hopefully, and send it to The ECU Doctor for repair.
Symptoms were erratic running, loss of power and lots of black smoke appearing at the back of the car, it's diesel by the way. As you have told me I have to disconnect the battery does this affect any thing else that I need to know about when I connect eveything back up, as I have said I don't have a clue how these engine things work, but at the cost a main dealer would charge for doing the repair I am prepared to have a go, it does not an in built satnav as someone asked. Cheers KB |

Make a note of the radio code (if you have one) as this will be required when you power the car back up again when you get the ECU back.
