Default Broadband Speeds

Has anyone fitted the iplate to improve broadband speeds ?? , according to BT it can improve download speeds by up to 100% . You do need a certain socket to fit it but installation is very simple and only costs £6.50. It does take several days to notice a difference according to BT , was just wondering if anyone had tried it .

I guess this is a filtered faceplate to fit the BT master socket. They do away with all the individual line filters. This one is no doubt the latest from BT, but there are several others, some probably better. These gizmos work well provided you ensure there's nothing else within your house interfering with the line speed. You can also get improvement by disconnecting the redundant bell wire. I'm with Sky and after joining the Sky User Forum, I realised just how much a typical domestic phone system can slow down your broadband. Your best strategy for maximising your connection is to join one of the user groups and learn a little bit about the way it works.

Any links Tcut? My dad reckons his broadband is slower than is should be, I'm on cable so no problems myself but it'd be good to help him get the speed he's paying for.
