Common problem - check the rear light unit seals and the side trim strips - do a search on here and you'll find plenty of advice

No worries - no such thing as a dumb question - believe me I ask hundreds - the chrome (i think on a 75) strips that run along the rear wings, they work loose, you need to remove rear boot trim/carpets and seal them with silicone sealant.

On the rear light seals look here

Also take a look here

Have a read through the How To section - link on home page - loads of info on there,

Once you've sealed the leaks I'd suggest hiring or borrowing a dehumidifier to dry the boot out.

Couple of other items you might want to read

Good luck!

Hi, I've just tried curing the same problem. I think my FM unit is needing to be replaced as it sits 1 inch from the spare wheel floor and it was 3 inches full of water (just bought the car!).

Try here:

If you have fold down rear seats you could always put the heater on, directed to the rear, whilst driving.
