KV6 Cambelt Tensioner
Hello. Can anyone advise please. I'm changing the belts and have a new old stock Rover boxed tensioner and find there is slight play in the bearing. Is this normal / ok ? Thanks

Hello Don,
The tensioner pulley is usually supplied with the female hex adjusting bolt fairly loose. If, after tightening this by hand, the pulley wheel can be rocked fore and aft then don't use it! Simon

The best tensioners are INA, I would not any other branded device.

Hi Don,
INA was the OE supplier when my engine was built. They are still available directly from X-Part's successor Motaclan. Do you have INA's instructions for setting up the pulley correctly? Simon

KV6 Tensioner
Hello Simon. Very much appreciate your help - I'd searched internet with the part number an whilst listed with several suppliers none had stock Strange Xpart (never thought to try them) or Motaclan didn't come up. There seems to be plenty of tensioners from all sort of makes but I prefer to fit the best I can as I don't want to do this job again!!!
