Some of these remedies are weird. I've got an MX5 which gets used only when it's sunny so the battery tends to wind down a bit.
After charging, the 'disc off' (antilock braking) light shows permanently. That means a visit to Tesco's car park when it's empty so I can do two wide opposite circles on full lock to clear it. Took me ages to figure that out.
