Gremlin
An oddity in the making. Ignition turned off and key removed. Ignition Position 1 is being shown on the dash (ie mileage since last oil service etc.) with the key removed. Suggestions would be gratefully received.

Switch ignition switch to radio on position.
Switch radio on. Switch ignition switch to off. If radio stays on, ignition switch could be faulty. If radio goes off, who knows. Last edited by MarkS; 9th January 2020 at 18:51.. Reason: Could be, could be somebody with a little knowledge been fiddling! |

Thanks chaps. No leaks or floods anywhere, scuttle is dry. Looks like ignition switch. I'll disconnect battery until tomorrow am.

Have you tried a 20 minute battery disconnect?

Yes!!!
I've found that the Rover 75 / ZT is like a Gremlin that's gotten wet! (You are ok to re-fuel after midnight though!)

And the winner is...... Tcut!
Now here’s a funny thing. Disconnected the battery last night as a safety measure – showing an electrical fault and leaving battery connected overnight could have been seen as well, stupid. Reconnected this morning and fault gone! So the recommendation is: Upon finding an electrical fault whilst at home, disconnect battery and leave in situ, go indoors for another congratulatory large glass of Shiraz, go to bed and to sleep whilst holding your wife’s, or any other that happens to be there, gentle and elegant hand. When you wake and return to the vehicle all will be well with the world. Not sure if it was the wine or the hand that did the trick, but thanks for the replies!

Now,
There's a thing. Sound's like what I have to do to my computer! Power it down, then re-power it back up later! …… would this work for brake pipes?
