Just got back from the show. The club stand looked outstanding, with 4 seriously nice examples on display.

I thought I kept my Lagoon in good shape, but Les has well and truly trumped me with his stunning V8 - absolutely mint in every area . Additionally, Ricks perseverance with his paint job has really paid dividends and his Typhoon is now looking as it should have back in the summer - just beautiful

The other 2 examples were equally remarkable and have really done the club proud - a cracking display all round .

Bit disappointed with my photos though. I took along a small Nikon Coolpix to avoid lugging too much stuff around, and the photos all look a bit "meh"! I'm blaming the camera - it couldn't possibly be my fault! Took quite a number, but these few are the only presentable ones .

Well done to all involved .

Cliff

I visited the show on Saturday and wow! bigger and better than I ever expected and I agree with some of the other comments that a day isn't really long enough I felt I could do with going back again today to carry on where I left off! It was a long day got there at 9.00am and left at 6.30pm. Needless to say the 75 & ZT stand was brill. Spent some time talking to Max(Manxierover) about his stunning V8 Tourer. Never met him before but what a thoroughly nice bloke nice to have met you mate. Best car in the show for me though was the Rolls Royce Silver Dawn one of the last true Rolls models before the takeover fitted with a Rolls Royce engine. The guy on the stand came over and chatted to us and kindly opened the doors and the bonnet for a closer look. It was for sale at just under 40grand and my word. Simply jaw dropping quality and engineering.

To be honest Wes, the photo doesn't do it justice. My pic makes it look like it's been smothered in trim dressing, but in real life it has a far more natural "factory fresh" look about it. Truly amazing.

I'd have to agree with you on that. Went back for a second look at it and just loved everything about it. Sadly, my wife pointed out that it wouldn't fit in our car port, so we went home in her Hyundai and left it for another buyer .

What you have to remember Cliff is Les lives up in the wild and woolly north of Scotland. By the end of this month when winter sets in the options are clean your engine or increase the population

Wishing everybody at the NEC, displaying and viewing, a safe journey home.

The Rolls Royce Silver Dawn certainly was something special. Dripping with quality and class. It was a bit long though wouldn't like to try and park it in our local multi storey car park or at Asda! Even the drivers door just shut with a beautiful satisfying clunk. Magnificent.

There was also a new Rolls at the show, costing some £300K. Incredibly opulent, complete with twinkling stars in the roof lining. It was way "over the top" though, and didn't have anything like the sheer class of the Silver Dawn.

Probably the most beautiful car at the show in my view.
