Default It can't last.

I met my wife Joan in Edinburgh in 1969. A couple of weeks after meeting we were engaged, and a few months after that we were married. Some people said that it was too quick, and it could never last.

Every year I would ask her if she thought it would last, and she always replied, "I don't know." and would laugh.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary today!

It's a funny old world.

Congratulations to both and best wishes. Someday I'll relate how we got together, when I stop laughing at my own naivete.

The most expensive financial agreement I ever made - seven shillings and sixpence down, and my entire wages for the rest of my life!

Seriously though, Joan has been my rock, and has always been able to make me laugh, even through the bad times.

We had a great day thank you, and the family spoiled us with cakes, gifts, and a lovely meal.

Congratulations for November the 8th. Fifty-four years is quite a milestone, and the Diamond Anniversary is something to really look forward to. A card from the Queen / King too?

Fifer

Thanks to all for the good wishes. It made an amazing time perfect.
