Just use Flickr.

I’ve said it from day one.

Hello Alan, by coincidence I use Flickr Pro for my serious photos and yesterday my Photo bucket account was deactivated as it had lapsed and I decided not renew it at £6.49 per month for 110Gb storage. All of my photos are stored in the cloud. I sympathise with the gurus here who used Photo bucket to illustrate repairs and upgrades.

Hi Al
With the above using its free photo hosting you can only have up to 1,000 photo's it is also owned by https://www.smugmug.com/ which charge for their service so I can only presume that Flickr will eventually.

Hi Steve, I pay $50 a year for a Flickr Pro account which gives unlimited storage with other features such as analytics of where and when the photos are being viewed etc,

How are you managing with that? You need to arrange access to enable you to edit them. I'm finding it rather tortuous, even though I have all the images hosted elsewhere. I feel witholding access to edit HowTos has proved very counterproductive.

Flickr is massive, but is tailored more for photographers than anything else. I’ve been a Flickr Pro member for about 9yrs and thought the free accounts still offered 1TB of free space.
SmugMug aren’t monetising Flickr anymore than Yahoo did, I’ve actually seen a lot of improvements to the service. Currently I have over 11,000 images amounting to 43gb on there.
1000 limit from 1TB is a huge drop. I guess there’s nothing stopping you having several free accounts.
That said, no image I’ve ever hosted from my Flickr on any forum has ever been unviewable.

Hi Cyrano.
I am not able to actually do the how to's direct so I am editing the live threads, which of cause I have to find them as they are over many pages, one consolation I have is I also added the same how to's on the community forum there you have access to directly edit your own how to's.

I therefore edit those first then copy them onto the live threads on here.

This problem is unlikely to be going away any time soon. Ultimately the hosting of images will have to be brought in-house but the software to manage this on a practical level I do not think exists atm. A massive failure to me on the likes of vBulletin but even the free PHPBB is shy of incorporating any current image auto-resize mod into its software as standard.

This maybe an option for some, the club offers its own photo hosting for each member for upto 300 photos.
