Default Working as cabin crew, some advice please...

So my son fancy's giving cruise ships or aeroplane cabin crew a try, he is 18, left school with some really good grades and has learnt to drive and has his own car.. The thing is I have no experience of this and don't know which direction to point him in.. Long shot but is there anyone on here who has experience in this field or maybe would know where to go to search for jobs ?. Any help or advice would be great thanks.

Sadly no experience from me here at all - but we did have a friend whose son went for cabin crew with an airline and initially he did very well but he was rejected for having a tattoo on his arm that would have shown when wearing the company’s short sleeved shirt.

When they realised this he was politely told that he was not suitable.

I will ask one of my nephews who worked for the Disney Cruise line as an entertainments officer in the Caribbean. I will ask him how he got started and when I know, I will drop you a pm.

Coincidentally there was a news story on our local news this evening about a college course for cabin crew! Perhaps there is similar locally? I do not know if any airlines though would be interested in having such courses, perhaps preferring to have their own training.

Course details HERE

The video of part of the report is HERE

Get him to take a look at this. It states it requires 5 years reference check so must have been at work part time or full time for this period. Basically he needs to do a job in customer service for 5 years and have a record of his service etc.
Show him what they require and he can go about having the experience they require when he applies.
Good luck to the lad.
