Default Recommend CDTi Specialist - East Midlands(?)

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone might have any recommendations for a mechanic / garage, ideally Nottingham / Derby, however prepared to travel, to look at my Rover 75 2004 CDTi Auto.

It has an issue whereby it was occasionally sluggish / lack of power when pressing the accelerator - it struggles to 2k/2.5k revs, then suddenly springs to life. Disconnected the MAF, as seemed to be the common issue, from what I've seen, and this made quite a difference, but still very occasionally had this issue. A friend suggested a carbon clean, which I had done. It now seems to be more of a prominent issue, more so on hills. Engine management light is also on. Had a local company read this on their diag machine, suggests air sensor / fuel issue. They looked at some data when the engine was running and Injector 1 seemed to be producing twice the mm3 output of all the other injectors, which all seemed consistent. They've recommended replacing injector 1, as a starting point, however whilst it *may* be the issue, there could be further issues - other sensor(s) and / or maybe a fuel pump were mentioned.

For me this needs looking at by a specialist, with relevant test equipment etc, so I've contacted all the local Diesel specialists - Nottingham / Derby / Leicester and they're booking for the end of the month / beginning of next month. This is a problem, as I am aware last week of the month, so I need to get something sorted sooner, if I can. I'm also aware it's Easter weekend, so that'll likely add to any availability.

Whilst the local Rover specialists will have the Rover specific diag kit, would they likely be diesel specialist and have the relevant test equipment for this also? Anyway, with that in mind I come across the local 'recommendations':
* MG Rover Mobile Mechanics, however no answer when I've called, as yet, and from what I've seen, they'll be busy.
* Austin Garages on their website, however they all seem to not work(?), again from what I have seen, they'll be busy.
* D&D Vehicle Services can book week after next.

As it stands, I see provisionally booking with D&D as my best option, but wondered if anyone may have any other recommendations / suggestions.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for the suggestion.

All arranged and sorted yesterday.

Terry @ TS Autos ... Nice bloke and a walking encyclopedia for Rover. Gave car a good check over, above and beyond. Car is so much better for him looking at and sorting it. Worth the travel.
