ASDA are doing CASTROL GTX for 10 quid for 4 litres .

5w/30 10w/40 and 15w/40.

But of course that's mineral oil, not synth or semi-synth isn't it ???
Why are the containers shrinking from 5 to 4 litres now ???
Over here it's 12 quid for 5 litres of 100% synth !!!

Part synthetic the ad says , obviously it,s sensible to check the spec against your car .

edit. the 10w/40 is A3 and B4

The Range still sell Unipart Fully Synth 5W/30 & 5W/40 5 litres for £17.99 and 1 Litre for £3.99 - has been this price for around 18 months so unlikely to change any time in the future. Meets API SM/CF ACEA A3/B3/C4 BMW & Porsche specs, VW 502.00 & VW 505.00.

UNIPART oil is a good quality oil, in the trade its rumoured that its re-badged Fuchs TITAN Supersyn (least that's what Google says.... :-p)

It's what's going in mine when I service it in the next couple of weeks.

Hi all , have bought 2 x 4L of castrol gtx 15w-40 A3/B3 part synthetic oil for £10 a can at asda !!!! My question is i have a 2004 cdti , is this oil ok to use on my next oil change as i do quite alot of motorway work ? many thanks.

Castrol aint bad - we use comma Syner -g in the V6 and Syner - D in the ZT
