Default Power steering pipe

I noticed that the low pressure power steering pipe has rubbed on the crank pulley at some point. Quite a large chunk missing, although it's not leaking.

My local garage said, just cut it out and join the pipe together with a section of copper pipe and clips. They said there is very little pressure in low pressure pipe.

Good idea? or is there a better way?

That will work just fine, there literally is a few PSI of pressure on the low side as its basically just a return.
It will stay spray out if you nick it but it doesnt require any special fitting, jubiliee be fine.

Just make sure the pipe replaced is the same diameter or you'll cause a pressure point.
