You sir are a legend,
It's evening over here and raining so might have to have another look tomorrow.
When I tried to get a reading from the rear sensors by hooking up the voltmeter
directly to them as you have I appeared to get nothing but I was looking for a reading above 1 volt.
I assume your 0.58 volts is a half a volt so will see if my voltmeter will go down to milivolts.

Don't have any sort of yearly MOT on our cars over here in the west.
Thats good and bad, car can be kept going with minor faults on them but also means they could be driven with a bad fault if not caught by local police .
Strangely enough there seems very few non roadworthy cars getting around these days. Cars have got so cheap now most just trade up to newer cars.
Could drive around with the abs , brake light forever here but abs is a good thing to have !!!

Interesting development, haven't driven the car for about 5 days, started it up and low and behold no brake or abs lights. Drove down the road all fine , switched it off, Re started the car and the fault lights are back!!
Still waiting for my rear discs and brake pads to arrived so will start at the back and work forward!!
Edit- again not driven the car for about 2 days, this time no abs /brake lights again as before on start up BUT when I switched it off and restarted again this time still no warning lights and all appears normal ??
Weird - still need to get the rear rotor discs and pads replaced when the parts roll up.
