Just my simple thought but have you tried a battery reset?

I did the same on mine but on the near side the original factory paint was so good that it seemed a shame to hide it so simply cleaned it up and gave it a couple of coats of lacquer.

Next Summer, I think I will wash off the Dinotrol underseal on the off-side and restore the factory finish rather than have odd sides.

Changed Kims drop links ...... and ...... the knocking has gone! Wooooo! *Jumps around like a lunatic punching the air
When I first heard it I thought dangle rods. Then reading threads on here other issues could have been the culprit. But no. Turns out I'd guessed correctly
Next job .... sort out the airbag warning light and 'not working' cruise control

Popped into a tyre place for the second time who have over tightened my locking wheel bolts. The manager explained to me that it's an old rover and that what the problem is as the bolts and key are 12 years old. He still could not grasp the fact they were actually only two years old and that his tyre boy must have used a windy to do them up. In a nut shell I left with 4 still over tightened nuts and two broken keys.

So after that I had a uneventful and pleasant morning doing an oil change and a look to see why I had no cruise control. Took the car for a nice blast up the A1 and on returning home dropped the nice scalding hot oil and changed the filter. The cruise vacuum hose had popped of the throttle body which was a nice simple fix.

That is one thing ticked of the huge list of to do jobs

You not popping around so I can take a gander at these McGard nastiness John?

I've spent most of today frabbling with ECU's as I was quiet workwise

finished off what I started the other week and vacuumed out the leaves out of the plenum chamber. I did find the rubber drain under the pollen filter was loose, I managed to fit the top seal but reaching underneath I could get it to engage into the flange - is there a trick or knack to getting both lips to seal? I'm figuring that I might need to seal the lower joint first and then the top?

Hi kelvin
It is a case of lifting out the ECU so there is room for you to remove the tube, rubber grease it round the area which will fit the inner section, then replace it with your middle finger inserted into the tube this way you can push the tube into place the top section will be easy to slide into place god luck.
