Matt black paint cleaner

Right, this isn't for me but my mate. He brought a Triumph Tiger Sport in Matt black and it looks awesome, but how do you clean it? Nearly everything has polish in in order to get a shine on. Dr. Beasley's stuff seems like the answer, but it is insanely expensive. Insanely!!

You lot seem to know pretty much everything about this sort of stuff, so thought I'd ask here. I know there is the valeting board, but I've had a look and can't really navigate it well so figured I'd ask here if there is a product that comes recommended to not shine up the paint whilst adding protection. Or a soap that will clean the paint and then a "polish" to seal and protect the finish.

Any ideas?

When we painted my P6 in satin black, someone told me they used to use white spirit to wipe down the Matt black car they used to have.
I haven't tried it myself, as yet.

I'm learning quite a bit myself. My satin does mark easier than gloss & unfortunately, it's not always possible to remove bird-poo & the like immediately.

Yeah, my mate is finding it difficult to clean and not shine up.As his tank is somewhat close to his nether regions, there are three distinct shiny bits appearing.

He's getting scared to actually clean it though! So far he uses water and...a hose, and a very delicate touch with a sponge. I told him to apply wax with sandpaper. That'll apply a nice protective finish without shining the paint up! What he said to me ended in off.....
