Clay bar and soapy water does the job nicely.

Hi all,
First proper post as a new member. This caught my eye as something I have an interest in and something different from my endless reading about plenum chambers, bonnet cables etc. etc. . If you really like clean cars have a look here: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ You'll recognise the layout of the site as it's identical to this one..... I'm a regular on there, so if there's anything you'd like to ask - go ahead. Hope to be getting to know/meet some of you soon. All the best, Andy PS. No 75/MG.......yet...... |

Demon shine
Demon shine works well as a lubricant. Often cheap in Halfords

Well, not me as I never seem to have the time to detail a car or my bike. I barely have time to 'was N wax' the thing. I envy people with the knowledge and time and willpower to detail a car like you lot do.
Anyway, as I was saying, by brother has an XKR or something Jaguar like that. Huge supercharged beasty that he loves. And he details it every weekend. Takes him over 7 hours. Okay, it looks and smells like it has never turned a wheel and is shinyier than showroom shine. He swears by Proshine products. He's tried loads and reckons the ProShine stuff is the best at getting off poop and adding UV protection and shine. I asked him about claying the car and he says he has never had to because the ProShine stops the dirt from sticking in the first place. I looked it up, and the stuff is supposed to last a couple of months or something, and he does it every weekend, so that's probably why. Personally, there aren't a lot of things I am prepared to spend 7 hours on a week, let alone rain or shine, cold or heat, lying in wet rinsed off shampoo whilst polishing the inside of an expensive wheel. |
