It should do. I don't have a saloon, but the CD changer is usually in the boot (rear-offside, on the ones I have seen). The loom might be hidden behind the trim. You might also need a new bit of trim to accommodate the changer.

I'm sure some other experts will be along soon

It depends on what head unit you have fitted, if you have a Harmony head leads can be purchased. Same as for Symphony unit. As far as i am aware the changers are specific to the headunits. They have different pinouts etc. It is a bit of a nightmare.

This thread explains what you need:

I would expect your car would have the Harmony or Symphony unit fitted. The changer is the same for both of them but connecting lead is different.

The Harmony unit (Phillips) has the BMW connector which is around 1 1/4" square with around 10 large pins. The Symphony unit (Alpine) has ISO connectors of which there are 3 (One brown, one grey and one White iirc). Using the correct looms for the different head units, the cable off to the CD changer is the same. I understand the looms for mounting the CD in the boot is no longer available. You are therefore left with fitting the CD changer in the glove box, which is what I have. This hasn't proved a problem as the glove box used to get stuffed up with rubbish in any case.

I currently have the Symphony head unit, but previously had the Harmony and the CD works fine with both. Try Les at SMC for cables or head units, CD changers are usually available on Ebay. I recieved mine from there second hand and it has worked fine with no major problems.

In some cases the lead can be found, if fitted,
by dropping down the glovebox itself. I think that when unit wasn't fitted as standard, lead used to be left there. Worth 10 mins to look before forking out
