Default 17 years ago today...

MG Rover announced the company was entering administration with Price Waterhouse Coopers (pwh) taking control.

Today, 17 years on and the enthusiasm for both MG & Rover marques is still strong.

On the 8th of April 2005 I had just turned 13 years old only a few days before and remember coming home from school and seeing the news at 6pm with the announcement and seeing all the workers leaving a large factory (later knowing this to be longbridge).

17 years on, there's a number of mg and rover owners and enthusiasts looking forward to attending Pride of Longbridge in the next couple of weeks.
It's sad to know that each year numbers of surviving British built mg and rover cars shrinks just a little more and that no new vehicles are coming down an assembly line.

I hope to enjoy and preserve our two 75s for as long as is possible to do so.

Rob

Yes my Rover 75......built 2002 and had her from brand new and ordered her from MG Rover, still have this car...still no rust and the mighty diesel engine still keeps going.....and only had one Alternator in all those years, the Turbo.. radiator....fuel pumps......and injectors all what Longbridge placed onto this car..... ( they are still operating) and at 346000 miles still pulls like a train.... no battery car will ever do that......The British Panzer.... thats how well built the Mighty 75 is built. WELL DONE MG-ROVER LONGBRIDGE CAR MANUFACTURING...BUILT IN GREAT BRITAIN!!
