Default Pre-facelift/ facelift cars.

A question admittedly more asked out of idle curiosity than anything else but would it be possible to turn a facelift Rover 75 into a pre-facelift version by bolting on a bumper and some headlights from an earlier car or are there structural or technical issues that would make this impractical/ impossible?

Has anyone ever done this?

Switching mk2 front bumper and headlights with mk 1 bumper and headlights is a straight swap. Totally doable.

Possibly, this one is showing a 2005 reg which is well into the facelift era. Unless it was registered really late?

It is a straight swap, several have done it. Just stick mk2 to mk1 bumper in the search function above.

That was mine that was up for sale but now withdrawn. It is actually a 2002 car that came of the line to be sent to Mcnellies for the LWB conversion. It was not registered until Jan 2006 so must have been kicking around for a few years.

Registered late then. Maybe they took so long to do the conversion that by the time they finished MGR had gone bust and they struggled to get a buyer?
