Pouch contains the meter itself, container is the strips that plug into the meter (plug into the meter then a drop of blood onto the end of it), pen like thing is the spring loaded gizmo for pricking your finger. Meter switches on when you put a strip in it then switches itself off again after the strip is removed. You can go in and look at previous readings etc.

I still check myself now and then but my sugar level is so well controlled now I could just about paint the reading onto the screen, rarely varies.
Good morning Steve and thank you. The same kit you use is available here for about £8.63 so I have put in an order for one and it will be here by Wednesday.

The kit Jeff uses is not available in Kenya, so the Accu-Chek will be handy. Full marks to you for controlling your sugar levels.

The machines are pretty much given away as the money is made by selling the test strips. Thankfully mine are on prescription!

The good thing with this one is that it has bluetooth so you can upload all your results to an app and monitor your levels over a long period.

Good morning Jeff, thank you for taking the time in writing with photos of all of your medical gadgets explaining everything. Clearly you have your finger where it matters.

Morning folks,

Lovely sunny start to the day but it's rather nippy

F1 Bahrain Grand Prix, Premiership and FA Cup games to keep me amused on the telly box.

Will be taking another LFT test later and hoping I get that negative result.

Need to get back to work and also be clear for my Laser treatment on Tuesday.

Oh yeah.....gammon and chips to cook for lunch/dinner (not sure which yet) later

Hi Jeff, please send our best to Ros for a speedy recovery.

Your an audiophile. Have you any thoughts about Amazon Alexa, any good?

Will do Phil.....

Amazon Alexa.......I'm a fan

This is the Alexa Show 8 by my bedside....

I have another in the studio and one on the boat as well.

Not for their audiophile qualities (although they sound okay for what they are) but for their great integration to assist running our smart home/studio/boat.
They make great picture frames and I find them invaluable for setting tasks/alarms/reminders etc

Just to expand on the Alexa question.

We have home security cctv that can display and be controlled on the Alexa devices.
Smart lighting and sockets which we can control via Alexa. Our Air Con has Alexa built in so again is fully controllable by Alexa.
I can monitor the boat temperature and CCTV via Alexa and switch on tube heaters if needed.

All of this can be done locally from the Alexa devices (also forgot to mention Alexa works on an Amazon Firestick as well) or from the Alexa App on your smart phone.

You can make routines up, so for instance....If one of your cameras detects motion it will then instruct a smart light (of your choice) to switch on. You can set the level of brightness or the colour of the light as well (depending on what smart bulb you have)

By far the best thing for me is when I'm cooking dinner.

I can just tell Alexa to remind me when I should check on something....Invaluable when cooking a Sunday roast whilst watching the Footie
