Rain is lashing down here.

Yes - supermarket mangoes need to sit until they go slightly soft for the right taste. Alternatively, mango slices in juice work well in a crumble, upside-down tart etc.

The sweetest mangoes are ones which are small and almost yellow. When young we used to just squeeze out the juice into the mouth as opposed to cutting out and eating the fruit.

These are still olive green & very hard, I tried to peel one of them yesterday & could barely get the knife to cut it I'm not used to exotic fruits

One of the tricks we use in the tropics is to place the mango in a brown paper bag with a ripe apple or a ripe banana, then fold the end of the bag over. We use this trick to ripen green bananas and within 48 hours they turn from green to yellow.

I'll give that a try also Phil, Cheers.

Just been cleaning all the 30 litre tubs with jeyes fluid ready for the potato planting in the next few weeks. Rain stopped play.

Cool

Bus trip into Plymouth, first time I have been in the city for over two years.
Found the phone shop, needed to get a better deal on my phone. Came out with a better contract and a new phone.

Then got the bus home.

Got chicken stir fry for dinner.

Nearly eaten my loaf, it’s bloomin’ ‘ansum.

NHS is good. Two letters today both telling me exactly the same thing, I'm on the waiting list for an appointment, waste of ink!

Must admit my mouth is tingling and I'm having an early bottle of apple juice to cool it down
