Deep cleaned the interior, dismantled and cleaned the wing mirror controls (they now work) and got 2 new tyres.

Hi Ben.
Both jobs well worth doing, also have a go a cleaning out the the door rubber channels, so the windows go up smoothly in this dry weather and you get less chance of the glass getting scratched

Default Cambelt Change

Well, today have done a 180mile round trip to Lates600.

All 3 belts, idler pulley and tensioner and waterpump changed. Oil & filter replaced and fresh antifreeze in.

It has been an education seeing Leighton & Pete do their work.

3 hours and we were on our way home, job done.

Anyone contemplating having this job done should contact Lates and watch these guys work their magic!

Decided to have another go at the front end jobs. Stripped out the battery box and associated brackets to give access to the abs unit and it’s brake pipes . Made up a new n/s metal brake pipe and refitted along with a new flexi hose and new clips and a new bleed nipple all came apart and back together beautifully. Strut was refitted and the pipes bled with an eazybleed at 10 psi and she’s back on her wheels again. Still got the other side pipes to replace and the steering rack gaiters but quite pleased with what I managed today.

Smile Squirty fixed!

Finally found the safe place I'd put the new washer bottle filter, so today it was fitted... Now got a bit of force behind the windscreen washers, instead of the disappointing dribble!

I also reduced the level of coolant in the expansion tank to MAX!

Drop links! Finally got the fronts done and no more knocking. I reckon ambient temperature of 35C yesterday helped the removal of the old ones - certainly didn't help me!
I didn't resort to cutting the old ones out. Cracked out the top nut by rotating on the flat and managed to get an unground 17mm open end on just enough of the nut and simply spun the flat round. Thanks Lidl, your spanner set saved me a load of hassle.
New links have had their tops trimmed so getting a 17mm ring on is a breeze. Hopefully won't need touching for 4 years, otherwise DMGRS will be getting a call.

Hi,fitted the electric rear window sun screen in the ZT.Had it in my attic so time to make use of it.Wiring was already present.Nice to have all 5 buttons active on the trim panel.Would have been easier if there had been a second pair of hands, also should have waited till the heatwave was over!Regards Ry...
