Not very nice now, hot and clammy. If the thunderstorms do arrive it'll be a relief.

Sods law raised its head earlier, I'd charged the camera to photograph the woodpeckers but they hadn't appeared. I was putting the final suite cover back on, in order to do so had to move the big table across out of the way to get at the chair. The chair is too heavy to move, big recliner. Camera is in the bedroom, table blocking the lounge door . . . . yep, you've guessed it, heard junior woodpecker screeching, the two of them were on the feeder

Cool

Managed to get Banana washed. Then set about coating the decking in oil. Got 3/4 quarters done before the sun disappeared and the dark clouds arrived.
Then it chucked it down.

Got a bite on my leg, been putting cream on.

BT was supposed to be here between 16.00-18.00 but there was a protest on the bridge so they had to cancel.

That was close! Sitting thinking its getting dark out there, better bring the duvet cover I'd washed in. Went out just as the first huge drops of rain started falling. So dark I've had to put the light on, pulses of very heavy rain, no thunder as such. Wouldn't mind but I watered the garden earlier.

Decisions decisions! TSW2 are having a Summer sale with two routes I haven't got, Both 80% off & just £4.99 each

It's either the Cathcart circle line out of Glasgow with the delights of Newton, Neilston Pollockshields east etc.

Or do I go all upmarket with the LGV Mediterranee Marseille-Avignon route.

Ah, Newton junction where the Cathcart circle branched off the main line, that used to be real bandit country. Freightliner trains from Gushetfaulds used to be stopped at Cambuslang, the station before Newton and advised the route was clear, ignore any signal that isn't green. The locals would try to stop the train and break into the containers

I'd vote Cathcart Circle, simply because the 314s are/were my favourite electric trains! I was on the middle leg of the farewell tour for them in December 2019; what a happy day out that was.

Morning all,

The sun is out but it is a bit cooler than of late.

Good news for me as I'm off to the garden centre to pick up some paving slabs, planters and some more bee/butterfly etc friendly plants.

I want to try and attract a few more pollinators into the garden. Good for the environment and interesting subjects for me to try and photograph

I'm with you I prefer the Cathcart line over the TGV as I have a few high speed routes but there's now another contender the BR Class 52
