Default Coming Out

If I openly declare myself as being straight heterosexual, would anybody be interested? I doubt it.

Why should it amount to such a song and mincing dance for others choosing a different way to announce it?

If it doesn't matter to you why post

As to those celebrating pride, it may have something to do with the way many LGBTQ+ have historically been mis treated and in many cases still are.

As to your own sexuality, good for you. However you identify the main thing is to treat you with the same dignity and respect as others.

A valid point. Here, homosexuality if caught carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years, so coming out could be risky. A few years ago, certain religious leaders coastal region, asked for it become a capital offence.

Interesting how we now have numerous sections of society announcing who/what they are and that everyone should take note, treat them differently but the same.

The only attributes, for want of a better word, I'm concerned about is that folks are polite, respectful, kind, helpful and any othe positives. Other than that let's get on.

Seems ridiculous to offer it but my definition of a word I used is:
'A fanciful or humorous appellation: a nickname'.

I'd be interested to learn what other might be used as this one was apparently particularly attractive to the relevant lobby. Now it seems it can't be used for fear of giving or taking offence. What an appropriation, QED. One could go on....

That's great, but this thread is not about you. I think post #2 answers the original point very well.

People should read the life story of Alan Turing, or atleast a summary of his life story, to understand how society treated LGBT people not very long ago.

I too am bewildered why anyone wants to go round telling others of the preference or what the purpose is of telling others.

You, and 50% of the worlds population--

Could be that you are advertising yourself as available to the opposite sex.---

( You might just get lucky.-- ).

.

Or to the same sex but in a stealthy, measured way.

Perhaps Fred's inner self is longing to tell him the truth about himself that he has not yet discovered?
