doesnt look like one of the two sixties- by the reg is probably MGR plus one owner- looks in good order. ( rolling road to check fuelling) would suggest filter clip issues- easily sorted

Think i've found a fault in my database - BU53 RNZ is VIN #25, a Mk1 T-T in LeMans Green, built by the SVO department and was the first Q4 built car in 2003.

I've no idea why the car for sale has the same reg number, maybe #25 was crash tested? and the number re-used on a later car (if it is even possible to do this).

Am interested to know the VIN of this car.

That is no 25 (so that becomes SARRXGTGB4D00025)
It is The Mk1 Le Mans green car that was dressed as a MK2 and given a very poor respray.

Should still be green or have Green bolts around door shuts under bonnet etc
Front bumper is red underneath
I looked at it in Hartwells with about 7.5K on the clock

At the time it had labels everywhere where so I asume it had regularly been pulled apart

from my notes
NSF Arch had some rust from paint damage
rear OS trime damaged
no load space cover
boot floor was green
nav comp was missing
CD changer was missing
bonnet would not open
engine would not start (flat battery)
various bits of trim loose

It was up for lots of money I think I scared them as they would not accept my "reasonable" offer "to take it as is" and then immeadiately sold it through the trade

4.5 to 5.5 k will be a fair price if it is now in better nick than when I first saw it in 2006 when it was being hawked around the Trade.
Could be worth a lot more if someone thouth the low Vin unique

I had rather hoped it would appear one day in its proper colours and did wonder if it was the other green one on autotrader

Hey guys thanks for this info, definitely worth asking and a long way for me to travel and find this out.

The word bargepole comes to mind even at £4 or £5k.

It was most probably resprayed for a genuine MGR related reason and being number 25 i.e one of the first true productions cars is truly rare, easily an equal in the marques status to the S plates being chased all over the country.
I will keep an eye on the bidding but theres a lot of people out there that don't do their homework before buying cars, so it may well go to 6-7K and if bought blind will probably get relisted once the bidder realises all is not to him, quite right!

I think I offered £7000 for it when Hartwells had it up for £11,500.

Main concern I have is when I looked at it in 2006 it was clearly a car subject to having been pulled apart several times.

It may like Wombles even have some prototype parts on it which would be interesting to source if needed.
