Default Brakes banging advise

Hello
I have a Rover 75 tourer which has an issue with braking banging when under anything more than light application I can also feel vibrations through the brake pedal.
I have had it in to a garage and they changed the front drivers wheel bearing but that did not help, nothing is showing on their diagnostics.
It has also had new bearings on the rear wheels in the last couple of years.

Any advise about what it could be would be great.

Thank you.

If I understand your problem correctly I think I had the same thing. For me, the thing that finally fixed it was changing the front brake discs. The car had been sitting for a long time, and I think together with a sticky caliper my discs got warped.

Also, does it occur at all speeds? If it only happens at low speed, it might be an ABS issue. This can happen when the brake plates at the rear wheel rust and interfer with the ABS sensor

Thank you for this, I have considered the warped disc myself but have not looked at it as I assumed the garage would have checked that, you never know tho so it might be just the problem, certainly something to check so thank you.

If the brake pedal is pulsing under low speeds then, one of the bearings most likely have some rust trapped between the sensor and the bearing, nine times out of ten this shows up to be the OS rear bearing picking up rust from a corroded back plate.
1

Get the wheels off and visually check the back plates, maybe remove the bearing and clean up the back plates etc.

T4 will pinpoint the sensor or corner that the problem is coming from most of the times.

Of cause sometimes it can be the other side or even the front but T4 will point you in the right direction or it should.

Thank you for your input on this.

I have stripped the OS rear wheel down today and checked all this, everything seemed fine so I cleaned it all back up and put back together and it did not fix the problem.
I am going to do the same with the NS rear tomorrow and see if I have any joy.

Failing that is there anything else I should try?

Thanks
