Bit of a coincidence Mike.
I was looking at a royal blue 300c diesel yesterday at JCT 600 in Bradford
Super car, I am very tempted, but can't bring myself to sell the 75.
I have been trying to persuade SWMBO to px. her car and have both, but no luck yet.

You see Mike never trust the reviews.
I've read two Motor Mags that slag these off so badly, you wouldn't touch them with a Barge Pole.
Just shows always try yourself before listening to comments or going solely on reviews. I wonder how many people don't bother because of all the negative Press.
Look what that did to most British Companies!
Have seen many new Low Mileage up for sale which does not do it any favours.

I believe the 75 ZT BMW diesel engine (M47R) was also assembled in
Steyr in Austria.

Must be quality town that

There is a black one of these round these parts, all trimmed and chromed to the eyeballs and boy does it have road presence. There is also a Lambourgini Mercialago and two (yes, two) Bentely Continental GT's and a Bentely Flying Spur all of which have huge road presence. In fact, there is so much presence on the roads around here that the roads themselves are becoming affraid of coming out after dark.....

Spot on John. The media are still in thrall to the big few (BMW etc.)

As you say the only way to find out how good other cars are is by driving them yourself. The Chrysler isn't perfect in every way (tricky around a (the) small side street for one ) but wow what fun and its quite possible to throw it around a touch, though the rear wheel drive means that the traction control and esp can come in handy

The space inside is enormous and the ride close to the 75 for comfort. It's interesting what impact the road presence Simon is describing has on other drivers- basically they tend to get out of your way hee hee (aka the Bentley effect lol).

Thanks for the try out Steve - now how can I get one past swmbo?

Despite the media generally slating the 300C, I've always had a bit of a soft spot for them. There is a sportier model available that is my personal favourite that does a lot better in the corners but sacrafices ride comfort (as you would expect). Having a big lazy American petrol engine upfront kinda adds to the big-grin appeal

I'm also finding myself drawn towards the new "R" S-Type Jag which has all the halmarks of a much sportier image - plus it's got wood inside

By the way, it's a Mercedes diesel engine installed in the European 300C (for the diesels obviously) and a US engine for the petrol versions

I have always thought that they are delicious!
Saw one being chucked around at the Port Solent car show lasty year by none other than the original Stig. It was a gorgeous black diesel tourer with the Bentley style grill! EXCELLENT!!
By the way, Top Gear did a review and it slated its handling, but where would you drive the car to warrant great handling as a necessity?

They have been biased when looking at the 75, too. So I assume, the handling is good.

I like the front of the 300C and its silhouette, but the rear end isn't as good.
Inside? Don't know yet, I had just a brief glimpse for now.

Talking

They had a mini motor show in the centre of Milton Keynes at the weekend and we went down there, we had a look round the 300c but while i love the chryslers outer looks i just felt a bit deflated by the interior. I was expecting a bmw or mercedes feel about it and unfortunately it felt quite plasticy to me, but thats just me, maybe i am expecting too much as it is an awful lot less money than a Bmw or Merc. On the outside though it is a real monster ....i love it. Its always good to have a car that has the looks to frighten small children..ha ha.
