It was mentioned that MG7 would be "sourced and Imported" from Abroad.

thats not good, do we have any proof that these chinese gents are going to use the famous Longbridge factory for any serious car building, that MG6 would be good at Longbridge if they ever get anything off the ground, but i fear these current 2008 08 platers (SMG ROVER & AE WIlcox) up for grabs currently are the last real new ones we will see from mighty Longbridge factory.

i believe from someone who did a factory tour last week that a couple of test mg6,s have been down the old 75 track to see if it goes (it's wider than the 75) apparantly longbridge is ready to go they are waiting for saic to sort a diesel engine for europe.
apparantly saic need longbridge as they don't have the capacity in china to build euro spec cars. all this still has to be confirmed still.

THATS GOOD, WHATS HAPPENING TO THE MGTF LINE, SOMEONE SAID THATS BEING THROWN OUT, kind of thing. I that true?, have the chinese given up the ghost on the TF model.

So do we believe that the MG6 will be at the Longbridge site or are we being taken for kippers?.

I really think it is a wait and see situation at the moment.
Lots of Reports/stories but nothing actually confirmed in writing so to speak.

It would be commercial suicide to relaunch the MG ZT (MG 7). MG Rover was killed (it no transpires) over 4 years ago. Longbridge needs to be refurbed and produce new metal not rehashed stuff from 1998. Hurts me to say that as I love my ZT

The MG7 with several parts of old design mixed with updated areas to
Beats many "new" designs and cars IMHO.
Still seen nothing better looking in the last 10 years come out.

I completely agree John, as I'm sure most members on here do.

But the vast bulk of the car buying public (and motoring press) probably wouldn't .
