Default Creaking Dashboard

My 2003 ZT dashboard creaks when driving along, it's driving me nuts. Any ideas how to stop this apart from getting rid of the car? Thanks

Spraying some silicone spray into as many of the joins as you can get to may help. WD40 may do it but it can attract dirt on it's oily residue.

take it out and fit a walnut one a lot more rigid and a much better fit.as for the walnut in a zt..... shock horror it was available as a upgrade but it would have been plastic as they had stooped fitting the real ones by then

Is the creaking from the front grey panels or from the main facia?

I noticed when I changed from grey to black oak it did not have the metal backing on the panels. Saying that the black oak does not creak even though not as rigid as the previous grey type with the metal backing.

Mine creeks like mad depending on ambient temperature. I swapped it for the real wooden one from my saloon and it still does it.
I'm forever going down the road prodding and pulling to try to find which bit is causing the most noise.

Regards. Steve.

Having had more dashes than hot meals - (being a student that's not hard!) I found the creaks tended to come from the clocks.

Metal backed trims seem to be better from experience (walnut, early rhodium upto 2002) and for some reason black oak (got a set to fit tomorrow!)

Just becareful when removing as it can be an utter barstool to get back in!
