Blu Ray
If anyone wants an optical backup for large amounts of photographic data, get an LG Blu Ray re-writer (model GGW-H20L). I splashed out on one this week and have just tested it with Nero 8. The drive is a very impressive bit of kit and the whole setup with Nero is rock solid.
It's fairly slow to write (about 4 mins per gigabyte) but who cares, it's a backup. TDK BD-R single layer discs (25Gb) can be bought for £6.46 each inc vat. Not sure how much the dual layer 50Gb ones are. |
