Default Front Windows Rattling

The front windows on my Tourer appear to be rattling whilst fully closed & it's driving me nuts. When I drop either of the front windows even a couple of inches then the rattling stops, leading me to believe they must be rattling in their channels. I have tried all the usual things such as lubricating the channels, tightening the door shuts and padding out the void between the window channel and the door surround.

I know other people have had this problem, but has anyone permanently solved it? Does it need new window channels, are they still available and easy to fit. Any other suggestions?

Mine do it too but only in the Autum & Spring, it must be a temperature thing....................I'm told the cure is new rubber channels but have also heard that a knee in the middle of the door & a yank of the door top is often enough to cure it, never got round to trying it though

After starting the car, use the locking switch by the gear lever to drop the door-buttons. They then are 'gripped'. In mine it wasn't the glass, I don't believe they can rattle. I rumbled it one day by accident and there's been no trouble since!

No, it's not the door buttons, it's definitely the windows when shut.

Awfully sorry old chap, in my case it was definitely and without any doubt whatsoever the buttons! However, if lowering the buttons in some way creates some kind of 'stop' on the windows then so be it. This is the case with my car, it is the only R75 of which I have experience.

No problem, I wasn't trying to poo poo your advice, it's just that was the first thing I tried.

Anyone have any experience of purchasing and replacing the window channels?

Would fitting wind deflectors that fit in the window channel (Heco or Climair) eliminate window rattle, anyone have any experience?

I have wind deflectors fitted in the channels and now and again at low speeds with the window up all the way the drivers window occasionally rattles, this is only now and again not a constant problem but I don't think wind deflectors would solve your problem.
