Problem sorted. I like it when a plan comes together!
As for the sealer, why don't you ask the previous owner. It would be nice to know what he has done, or attempted. I doubt he has removed the butterflies, but who knows. If you have a picture of the manifold.? I seem to remember some sort of sealant on mine, from original, but I can't really remember. It was not a bodge job though. |

I didnt think to take a pic of it whilst it was off sadly. Ill see if i can get a pic of part of it tomorrow when light.
The bottom panel has definitely been cut and re sealed though. |

Just another indication that a previous owner tinkered with the manifold....
The dash lights are blue so Im assuming he or she also changed these. |
