Powerflex engine tie.
Hi all,
Has anyone changed their lower engine tie for the powerflex poly on a V6? If yes, did you just use the large yellow one or change both the big and small one? What i don't want is any vibration. Am i right in thinking the red ones are softer as they are for the diesel?

where do we get these from; since I have now considerably more beans having done a synergy, decat, EGR bypass and exhaust I am picking up a rather irritating buzz under heavy acceleration which suggests I should attend to this (using a red one I guess as its a diesel!)

Worth checking first, as when I came to look at the mount on the 75, the small one had completely disintegrated, however as Harry says, most of the time, the damaged one is the larger of the two. Mine was just very old.

I changed to Powerflexes on the lower tie about three weeks back and the car is better for it. No longer get a small kick on start up and better on low rev gear changes. Feels nice and solid.
Not sure on Harry's view about the diesel red bush being harder. I was told by Gammons (who I bought the bushes from) that it was the other way around in that the yellow bushes were found to be too hard for the diesel and allowed more vibration to be transmitted into the car which is why Powerflex made the red version for the diesel. I changed the small bush at the same time (also red). On inspection I found little wrong with the original but with the tie off the car it seemed folly not to change both and neither are difficult to replace. Don't forget to torque tighten the bolts.
