Default Water noise

I have had a 2000 non turbo 1.8 for about 1 month, it has done 150'000 miles and had the head gasket, belts, pump, oil and filter changed when i bought it.
The query i have is.... When i corner hard i can hear what sounds like water sloshing from one side to the other around the dash area, any ideas?

Water in your plenum!

Check the numerous threads on how to drain it on the forum and do it quick.

Good luck!

As pointed out water in the plenum chamber, not good the ECU is seated there, take a look at this thread where you will find all the detailed links on PLENUMS.

Don't panic, the ECU on the 1.8 is basically waterproof (although the plugs aren't).
You'll need to sort it out before it starts overflowing through the pollen filter and soaking your carpets though

Yes, try to avoid putting too much water down the front of the Windscreen because the drain hole/s can be very easily overwhelmed with too much water.....

NB. And avoid 'Drive-Thru' Car Washes.... (If you can).

Default Drained

Plenum now drained and pollen filter replaced as it looked and smelt a bit like a sewer.
